If you can get past the atrocious smell, maybe this fruit is good for you! But Durian, a local fruit that grows on trees, is a very typical fruit that Indonesians enjoy. But for and outsider such as myself, it is the most vile scent known to mankind. But not only is it the smell that gets to you, it's also the hard, spikey outside that seems hard to cut through. Lets just say it doesn't look like a normal, enjoyable, edible fruit. Lastly, its a green/yellow color, just plain weird. If I haven't gotten through to you yet, imagine eating a stink bug- and you've just eating a piece of durian. Hard outside- soft inside- gross smell. Then once you eat it, the smell stays with you, on your hands, like a skunk spray that lingers for days. It may be a legend, but I've heard that the only way to get rid of the smell, is to fill the Durian shell with water and wash your hands in it. Of course, I have never tried this- and probably never will. But hopefully someday, maybe you will get to try it, and if you like it, I'm happy for you. But for those that are like myself, don't go near it.
